About Ayurglo
Ayurveda and Yoga are the epitome of self-care. The mindfulness and awareness you can achieve is boundless. We fill our days with a myriad of events, thoughts, and actions that can pivot you into an unbalanced state. Having rituals and routines can help maintain harmony, even if it's just for 15 minutes each day. One of our favorite Dinacharya (daily routine) practices is Abhyanga, also known as self-massage with oil. This massage practice aids in nourishing the entire body, assists in elimination of impurities and is a great internalization exercise to reduce stress.
AyurGlo provides body oils unique to each person’s Prakruti or constitution to facilitate Abhyanga. We use small batch blending techniques and only natural and/or organic products with certified chemical analysis from our distributor. Our products are petrochemical free, cruelty free, USA made by an all female team, and formulated by the resident Pharmacist and Ayurvedic Counselor, Anjali. Take our Dosha questionnaire and choose any oil favorable to your Prakriti or consult with Anjali to help create a personalized blend.
Proceeds of each purchase are donated to the Malala Fund, a non-profit charity servicing underprivileged girls education around the world. AyurGlo is here to help you benefit and in doing so, you are benefiting others.
Founder
Everyone’s wellness journey is unique, and building a template of Ayurveda and Yoga are beneficial guides. This philosophy give birth to the concept of AyurGlo by its founder, Dr. Anjali Udhwani. Anjali has worked in community pharmacy practice since 2006 and from the start of her career has approached health with a holistic lens. In 2020, Anjali received her Ayurvedic Certification from Kerala Ayurveda Academy and in 2022, a Yoga Certification from Mount Madonna Institute.
Anjali has lived in India, the Caribbean, Miami, FL, and the SF Bay Area, which continually influence her lifestyle and perceptions of the world. Anjali currently practices as an Integrative Pharmacist, Yoga Instructor, and an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor in both North Carolina and the USVI. She enjoys sharing the Ayurvedic word via her work and active participation in Ayurvedic organizations, as well as creating self-care formulations for her friends and family.
Otherwise she spends her time playing with her fur baby, working at her family business, and traveling. Her other interests lie in Ayurvedic Psychology, Vedanta Philosophy, and developing ways to rejuvenate, hence the creation of AyurGlo. Our goal is for you to “GLO” at your greatest potential both inside and out with the guidance of ancient philosophy modified for today.
Her Story
When I started practicing pharmacy, I would suggest wellness modalities such as yoga and meditation as lifestyle interventions to those suffering from anxiety, depression, and even metabolic diseases, such as high blood pressure and diabetes. I worked for a big retailer which is quite stressful, demanding, overwhelming and yes sometimes demoralizing. However, to survive and be a positive team leader, I made the practice my own and every person mattered. I am the pharmacist who leaves her counter to come out and greet you, physically put a product in your hand, or look at your wound, attempt a painless vaccination, or just have a good chat. All in all, I am grateful to those who share their personal stories because it takes a certain amount of vulnerability to do so. I became a routine part of people's lives, as most community healthcare practitioners do. Then a point came when I became a patient and truly understood the value of Integrative Medicine.
To combat the stress, I was getting massages and using expensive fragrant body oils to help boost my mood, which was a slight improvement. After some time, it occurred to me how in India massages are quite common practice, starting at birth, so I decided to learn the proper self-massage technique. I then further became more disciplined in my physical Yoga practice and would buy class packages to reinforce healthier habits. All the benefits I was receiving made me realize that I capable of taking full ownership and creating a model of affordable and luxurious body, mind, spirit maintenance systems for others as well.In 2019, my long awaited desire to study Ayurveda came to fruition, turning to my ancestral roots. Ayurveda is the science of living in harmony with nature, and as I began practicing Ayurveda, I realized the value of integrating Yoga into my wellness plan. In general, Pharmacists wear many hats and it was an optimal transition in my career. I am now a Pharmacist, Ayurvedic Counselor, Yoga Instructor, and Aromatherapist all of which guide me to curate safe, effective, personalized, and luxurious products. I cannot stress enough the importance of being your own health advocate. I learned how to live a modern Ayurvedic lifestyle, incorporating both Ayurvedic and Yogic techniques in my thoughts, words and actions, creating a protocol that works best for my needs. I've enjoyed sharing these rituals and practices with friends and family. I now want to share these benefits with everyone because everyone deserves personalized care.
I hope you enjoy our products as much as we do and take a moment to be mindful every day.
